Hello Facebook family and friends,

i am running my first 5K on July 3rd, which is the 9th anniversary of Corey's death.  Nine years ago I was speed walking every day and Corey said if I would participate in a 5K he would be at the finish line with a sign "Way to go!  That's my mom ??".  I gave up my dream when he died and tried several times to get back into it but my heart wasn't into it.  

In February my dear friend Myra asked me to go to New York and I started speed walking to get ready for all the walking I was going to do.  With in two weeks I was running and believe me I have never been a runner. Our trip to New York changed me.  I witnessed a miracle from God and I saw prayers answered.  I rekindled friendships (Michelle) and  even met a sister from another mother (Kim).  This trip was life changing.  When I got back home I continued running and I love it.  

I know Corey won't be at the finishing line but I know he will run beside me every step of the way.  Monies raised will benefit the Flag Program at Veterans Memorial Park, which is a great cause.  If you would like to donate I thank you ahead of time. But, if not I do want to ask you for two things. One, pray I can run a healthy race and second that I finish with a smile on my face and not tears in my eyes.
